At ACGS, our commitment to animals goes hand in hand with our commitment to the planet. We have developed a self-sustaining farm system that not only supports the needs of our resident animals but also contributes to the wellbeing of our staff and the environment.
On our farmland, we grow organic fodder for our herbivores and cultivate fresh fruits and vegetables for both the birds and our staff.
Our large animals contribute in their own way too. Thanks to them, we run a biogas plant, which provides clean fuel for our staff kitchen. The leftover slurry from the plant, combined with organic kitchen waste, is recycled back into the farm as natural fertiliser, creating a closed-loop system of energy and nutrition.
Water conservation is another area where we take proactive steps. With the help of drip irrigation, we minimise water wastage while keeping our fields healthy and productive. In addition, our rainwater harvesting system ensures that we make the most of every drop, especially during dry months.
This combination of organic farming, renewable energy, and smart resource management allows us to run ACGS in a way that is not only kinder to animals but also kinder to the environment. It is our way of practicing what we believe: that compassion must extend to all living beings and to the Earth we share.
